Our Recommendations

Luckily for us there is a large number of local restaurants near us; however, to make things easier for you we have listed below is a selection of some of our favourites! We would recommend booking to save disappointment, especially during summer. Please check that pubs and restaurants are open before setting out. Some have different opening time due to COVID.

Eating Out:

The Old Chequers, Friston: 01728 688 039
This pub is just over half a mile from Manor Farm. The landlord always keeps your glass topped up! Great food, with a friendly service. Easy to walk to across the fields! Closed Monday & Tuesday.

The Parrot, Aldringham: 01728 830221
Lovely local pub, recently been taken over by the same people that own the Dolphin (another good pub). Closed on Mondays

A beautiful country pub. The landlord has put a lot of effort into providing heated outdoor dining facilities.

Plough and Sail, Snape: 01728 688 413
Bistro pub dining. Ideal location for lunch followed by a browse around the Snape Maltings.

The Dolphin Inn, Thorpeness: 01728 454 994
A beautiful historic building. A stone’s throw from the beach, we love to take a stroll after a filling meal.

DP’s Bar, Aldeburgh: 01728 453 530
Want to try somewhere different? We love this quirky Thai restaurant and bar. Food is only served during the summer season.

The Light House Restaurant, Aldeburgh: 01728 453 377
Restaurant open for morning coffee/lunch/dinner, with outdoor tables and an emphasis on local fish. They usually serve food until 9.30pm, even during the week, even during winter (great news for any late arrivals!)

Regatta Restaurant, Aldeburgh: 01728 452 011
Situated in the middle of Aldeburgh High Street this restaurant offers constantly good food any day of the week.

Great for afternoon tea. If the sun is shining, ask to sit in the walled garden.

Expect ques to be long but it is worth the wait! Doors open for lunch at 11.45am we find it is best to get there early to avoid waiting. (Both shops in Aldeburgh are owned by the same people and we cannot tell the difference between the two!)
